Essence Farmstead is a small family farm located in Dawson, Georgia. Established in 2022, Jessica and her sons have been hard at work to build gardens of perennials, herbs, medicinal plants and flowers. They run a local, year-round, Microgreens delivery service for the Dawson/Leesburg/Albany and surrounding areas. As a mother of a special needs child, Jessica hopes that the farm’s businesses develop meaningful life-long learning and employment opportunities for her children, on and off the farm.

Essence Farmstead raises a covey of 50 quail in an aviary setting. This allows the quail to have access to as much of the natural elements as possible, while keeping them safe from predators. Quail are raised for their eggs and their deep bedding is used for compost in the gardens. Ari, aka “The Quail Whisperer”, helps with the quail chores on the farm. Sampson, aka “The Chicken Man”, watches over the chicken flock ‘like a hawk’. He helps collect the eggs, which the farm also sells to the local community.
